After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to sunset Patentmarket. The platform will officially go offline on September 30, 2026.
We built Patentmarket on a simple belief: that Europe's inventors, research institutes, and businesses deserved a transparent, modern place to trade intellectual property. We are proud of what we set out to do — but despite the passion of our team and the support of our community, we were not able to make it take off. The marketplace never reached the scale and momentum needed to sustain it for the long term.
What is happening, and when
Today — We are announcing the wind-down as early as we can, so you have as much notice as possible.
Between now and September 30, 2026 — The platform remains fully accessible. You can continue to sign in, manage your listings, and export anything you need.
September 30, 2026 — Patentmarket will be taken offline. After this date, accounts and listings will no longer be available.
What this means for you
Your account and listings stay active until the sunset date, so there is no need to act immediately. We do, however, encourage you to export any patents, documents, or records you would like to keep before September 30, 2026.
If you have a listing, engagement, or conversation in progress, we recommend concluding it — or moving it off-platform — well ahead of the deadline.
